Jay Magee is a marketing and corporate communication professional with 11 years of communication experience in corporate and nonprofit settings.

As the senior marketing coordinator at Community Hospice of Northeast Florida in Jacksonville, Jay promotes the nonprofit organization’s end-of-life care services to the professional healthcare provider community by developing and implementing marketing plans, educational tools and programming. He also currently maintains his own public relations and web design consultancy, Creative Types.

Prior to joining Community Hospice, Jay promoted enterprise software and professional services as a field marketing manager for Computer Associates International. He began his professional career in 1997 at Jacksonville IT consulting firm Computer Management Sciences, where he coordinated investor relations and employee communications activities.

Before moving to Jacksonville, Jay worked three years as a writer, editor and graphic designer with the University of Florida’s in-house publications division, News & Public Affairs.

Jay is president-elect of the North Florida Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). He also is an active volunteer and board member with the Rotaract Club of Florida’s First Coast and volunteers his time with the WJCT Radio Reading Service. His previous volunteer endeavors include work with the Jacksonville Jaycees, Cowford Professional Network, Super Bowl XXXIX Host Committee, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and the Gator Club of Jacksonville, for which he served as President in 2002-2003.

Jay, 33, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Florida in Gainesville. A native of Orlando, he now makes his home in the Mandarin area.
